Management Committee

sue wyn jones.jpeg

Sue was appointed to the group just over 12 months ago. She has lived in the hamlet for almost 18 years and is an active member of the community who enjoys contributing to and helping organise events. Since Sue retired in September 2021 she’s been able to devote more time to getting involved with local events and has stepped up her support and contribution to the community hall group. Sue’s particularly known for her fundraising afternoon teas which he hopes to make an annual fixture on the events calendar.

Sam Walker represents the younger members of the community. Sam is the lady who delivers the numerous flyers, News Drop and written communications through your letter box.

Karen Dimelow is our Social Media wiz. Karen posts and manages the Horseman’s Green Community Group Facebook page. All events are advertised on Facebook as well as the website. You will often see photos from activities posted here.

Lin Smith as the Bookings Officer keeps a check on the hall usage and prevents double bookings. Anyone wishing to use the hall for whatever purpose needs to run it past Lin. In addition to being the guardian of the hall calendar, Lin is also the guardian of the community’s defibrillator and in fact led the fundraising campaign which paid for it. Every month she checks the defibrillator is in working order.

Chris Wood - Last but by no means least, is Chris our Community Hall Caretaker. Where on earth would we be without Chris and his deputy Colin Porter? Chris and Colin together keep the hall going with their routine checks and constant repairs to the fabric of the building in addition to the maintenance of the grounds.  In addition to his caretaker role, Chris is also the local History Group representative.

All the above are volunteers from our community who willingly give their time on a regular basis. In addition many more local residents help out at events by taking an active role or donating cakes, prizes. We thank all these people for their efforts and also previous trustees and management committee members who have now relinquished their role. We are always seeking more volunteers. You don’t have to commit to a long term role. The Horseman’s Green Community Hall Group is a small organisation run by a small community for the benefit of all local residents along with their family and friends. Please don’t be shy at stepping forward and offering your support. You will be welcomed with open arms.
